Founder/Director/Trainer – Piano

Disan Kato is the founder and director of Living Music Foundation Uganda. His personal story is powerful: born in Sheema District (near Mbarara), he grew up orphaned, having lost family to HIV/AIDS. Despite early hardship — including having to abandon studies at university for lack of tuition fees — he turned to his musical talent. Over years he became proficient in multiple instruments (piano/keyboard, guitar, drums) and vocals. He formed a band, The Vessels, by training members from scratch, many of whom had no previous musical background. The band gained popularity in Western Uganda.

Through LMF, Disan uses his experience and passion to mentor other youths — providing them not just technical music skills but also hope, community, and a potential path out of adversity.
