What happens after the Lessons.
The Vessels Band is what our teaching looks like a few years later. Its members learned their instruments with Living Music Foundation. Today they play weddings, in churches, and at events across the region, and they are paid for it.
For a young person in Mbarara earning a living from music is rare. This is the point of everything we do.
The band is an independent group of professional musicians. It is not owned or run by the foundation. Our director Disan Kato Tusiime, performs with them, and the standing he has in the music scene here is the reason our students find paid work when they are ready.
From Training to Opportunity
Power and Stephen came to the Living Music Foundation with a passion for music and a desire to learn. Through training at LMF, they developed valuable keyboard skills and gained the confidence to perform.
After completing their training, they were recruited into the Vessels Band, where they now perform, grow their musical careers, and earn a living through their talent.
Their journey is a beautiful example of how music education can create real opportunities and transform lives.
